Magnum Phantom?

I'm intrigued by the looks of the Boker Magnum Phantom, but know nothing about it. There's no place in my vicinity where I can look one over and check its weight & balance. I'm a Quality professional and I get 'tweeked' by minor flaws & such. Can anyone give me an impression or review of the knife? I'm a fan of Kershaw & Benchmade; does anyone care to share their impressions relative to those brands? Many Thanks!

Aloha McBlade77,

Howzit...I am just here because I hate seeing threads with "0" replies.:grumpy: I assume you are talking about the Phantom Dagger? Hmmmmm...I can honestly say that if you are a "QC Professional", then pass on it. There may be some "flaws" in grinds and finish that you might find unacceptable.

I was accidentally given a Magnum Escape knife, and the Micarta used on it looks the same as that used on the Phantom. There are very minor grind flaws and such, but perfectly acceptable to me...but that's just me.;) The double edge of the Phantom almost guarantees some kind of minor cosmetic flaws, since that knife style is always hard to keep "perfectly symmetrical"...

God bless and hope someone can answer better than I.

Daywalker is correct!
The knife itself is a good SD tool. Nothing for EDC or general purpose.
But if you say, you prefer having knives with a premium quality, then you should for for something different.
don't get me wrong, the knife is very well made with great materials for this price range.
Or, give it a try and if you do not like it, I guess you can return it.

Hope this helps.

Many Thanks, Folks!

Your thoughts are very helpful. I purchased a Magnum Tornado, and (as you predicted) there are little blems here and there - but it's a handsome design and appears to be good steel. I think I'll keep it, and maybe watch for a bargain price on the Phantom. I'm also checking out the Hattori that Maarten recommended.

Thanks again :-)
