My wife and I were watching Retro TV the other night. On a Magnum PI episode, the "bad" guy was holding a Buck 110 to the girls neck. He eventually dropped it into Magnum's hand.

It was probably a custom shop knife and Selleck took it home with him

That show (like a lot of 80s action stuff) used a lot of buck knives for the bad guys... I always found it depressing that Magnum didn't seem to subscribe to carrying a pocket knife...

But he did have a trusty 1911A1 when it counted.

All kidding aside, I recall an episode or two when a sak was used.

One of my favorite episodes had Higgins using a dog leg jack knife to perform bushcraft when the guys were stranded on a small island about to be used for gunnery practice. Knowing the higgins character I am sure the knife was of British origin, "Sheffield" perhaps.

Higgins would never stoop to using a knife made outside the Empire, as such tools are by their very nature inferior.

Of course, being an Amurrican, I prefer a Case.

I don't know what he actually owns for knives, but Tom Selleck is a BIG TIME collector of vintage Winchesters and Colts..

I use to think I was a "Player" when I was collecting them, but after finding out about his and some other folks collections, I soon found out I was just the guy that parks the cars at the party
