Looking around the web I'm seeing everything from "temporarily out of stock", "backordered" to
"discontinued" for the Magnum Tanto IX and Magnum Tanto XII.

Have these two models been officially discontinued?
 
The 3V versions have not been released yet. They are planned to be issued for "2015" in a new steel, CPM 3V, versus the San Mai III. Different retailers will have their website setup to indicate a no-stock condition differently. Some will say "discontinued" for the San Mai III versions if they're out of stock. I don't know if CS will ever produce more San Mai III versions, but I imagine they will produce some but expect those to remain slim on stock. The 3V versions are more amenable to mass production and once they ship, there should be plenty of stock.
 
Thanks. I see the Cold Steel site lists them as backordered. Looks like all existing inventory on the IX and XII are gone.
 
I might have a couple of the San Mai versions in stock. Contact me if interested.
