This was a fun knife to build with a few minor mods from the original pic. Ats-34 with cryo , integral milled frame, Warthog tusk scales, Half stop, comes in at 4" closed. The customer and I talked over the scales and decided to go with the warthog instead of elephant ivory for the color. Very smooth action with nice walk and talk. Comments welcome Take a look.

Ken,

Looks like a challenging grind on the blade, also looks like you pulled it off in grand style.

The warthog scales look fantastic! The whole knife is great.

Ken, I'm not at all familiar with warthog, how does it compare to ivory?

I love it!! Wart(hog)s and all!!:D
Seriously, that is a nicely executed serpentine jack!!
Good choice of handles - character right out of the gate!

Warthog is ivory.....and tough ivory at that!!. What size tusks or teeth do you buy for the best results? Great looking knife.

That's a beaut. How does warthog compare to elephant in terms of workability and availability?

Almost beyong words...I love the color of the warthog...I have a tusk that will get used for a knife someday... the swedge and proportions are just fantastic.

Wow - great work, Ken. That complex blade grind looks like it must have been a real bear, and you pulled it off beautifully. It's one soulful looking knife.

Does look like a PITA to grind. Very impressive, that customer had a good idea!

Outstanding!
I think the lines of the blade and the lines of the handle compliment each other very nicely, and the Warthog tusk has a great warmth to it.
Will the tusk darken with use?

Beautiful knife! Could someone remind me what "integral milled frame" means? Are the bolsters and frame one piece?

Mike

Thanks for all the great comments guys, integral milled frame means the liners and bolsters are milled from one piece of barstock for each side of the knife. The grind was fun I took it higher above what looks like a swedge to make it cut better. The "swedge" is actually another hollow grind on top of the blade-not sharp but it could be sharpened fairly easily.
Ken.

The grind on that blade is out of this world. Very nice. Looks like you beefed up the handle a bit when compared to the picture? At least towards the front bolster?
Spectacular!

When you look at the price on the catalog. "85 cents, post paid" Wow. Those must have been some different days.

God Bless
