Ordered these two from Bladehq 2 days ago and they showed up this afternoon. Awesome turnaround time, especially since I chose the standard 4-8 day USPS option .

So far I love the Steel Will Modus; seems like a great carry knife. It's the perfect size, light weight and opens fast.
The RAT seems a little petite and slick but some carry time will tell for sure.
Both blades are in D2 FYI.

Just thought I'd share.

Get a Rat 1 in D2 too. No such thing as too many Rats in the house.

I've managed to hold off on a Steel Will in D2. Too many blades as it is.

RAT II is a smaller version of RAT I. Or vice versus. I have both, having bought the I first. I prefer the RAT II as I prefer smaller knives. Which is probably for the best. At 6'3" and north of 250, I don't need to intimidate anyone more than I already do physically in some cases. RAT II fits well in my XL paws. Either one is a very good knife, particularly at the price point. I may need a 3rd now that they have it in D2.

Yep, Rat 2 has the 3" blade. Rat 1 has the 3.6" blade. If your local laws allow a blade of 3.6", I'd highly suggest trying a Rat 1 in D2 with your color choice of handle scale. I personally avoid carbon fiber for the same reason you mentioned, they tend to be slick.

I haven't bought a Rat 2 only because my big paws (2xl glove) sometimes find 3" blades lacking on handle comfort. I generally prefer 3.4-4" blades with properly proportioned handles.
