found myself looking at it and thinking, "wish I"d done this" or "wish I'd done that a little different, etc." Had to laugh. I wonder who's more critical of a knife, the man who made it, or the man who bought it?

How many of you have mailed out a knife and thought, well, it's perfect. I never have.

I hear you, brother. Somebody around here once said, "It takes two makers to make a knife... one to build it and one to tell him when it's done." I always think I should have gone over it once more in hand-sanding or something... it's especially vexing when the customer just wants a basic user and doesn't want to pay for a fine finish, etc...

I can tell you every little scratch,or small gap or anything else wrong with all my knives.Everytime I send one out I get nervious as all get out hoping the buyer won't send it back because it is so bad.Never had one come back yet and all seem happy but it happens with every knife.

Over the year now, I to have found that their comes a time when that all you can do with the one you are working on. And the next step is sale it. All knives need a good home to live in. But on the other hand sometimes it hard to see it go. It like one of kid leaving home, you already start missing it before it leaves. Thats funny to feel that way but it happens. We all know the feeling. I can remember different things in the process that makes some stand out more than others. :)

Yeah, I have to admit I felt a little sad. What's that line" we had so little time together." Well, the good thing is we can also make another, and we will, and each one will be better than the last one.

Never made a knife I was completely satisfied with. But thats what keeps it challenging.
