Do the Solo, Bantam or Pioneer Settler have the same main blade as the Soldier (thickness and length)? I suspect the Settler does since it is a Pioneer model, but I have never handled one.

I want to get a one layer Alox SAK but I don't want to give up the extra ruggedness of the Soldier's main blade. I did try searching the old posts but none of them seems to answer this question...

I had an Alox Bantam and while I had no soldier to compare it to at the time, it was thicker than a standard SAK blade. The Nylon Solos have an even thicker (And longer) blade.

I have both alox solo and settler. I've used a half round file to make easy openers out of them and they are on thier way to becoming my favorite knives, outside of my soldier or pioneer sak's.

The alox solo and settler share the same rugged construction of the soldier.

Alox Solo & Pioneer Settler are the same main blade as the Soldier. The Bantam Alox blade is smaller. All great knives nontheless!

Thanks for the info! How much smaller/thinner is the bantam's blade?
