Maine Pattern Axe ID

I picked up this nice Maine pattern axe a couple weeks ago on eBay and have been trying to figure out the manufacturer ever since with no luck. It's marked 3 1/4 pounds and has the typical Maine wedge profile. Here's a shot of the maker's mark. I'm hoping that someone (Steve Tall?) can scrounge up a name.

Tuttle, Rufus** South Durham, Durham -1855-1879-
Tools Made: Axes
Remarks: He is listed in the 1855, 1856 and 1879 Maine Business Directories.

Or maybe there's a better match in the
Davistown Museum's Registry of Maine Toolmakers

I was thinking "TUTTLE" as well. The preceding character doesn't look like an R though, but at least it's a place to start. Thanks!
