The current limited edition of the KA-BAR E.W. Stone Knife (skull handle) comes with a blued blade. KA-BAR customer service recommended Du-Lite regarding routine maintenance for blued blade. I called Du-Lite who was very cooperative. Here's the process for my monthly knife cleanings, or earlier if need be:
1) Wipe blued blade with mineral spirits solvent and let dry
2) Fill "thin" vessel with Du-Lite's "Kwik-Seal" and place knife blade into it (product instructions will tell me how long)
3) Remove knife blade from "Kwick-Seal" and let dry.
4) Pour used "Kwik-Seal" back into it's container for re-use
Does anybody have any concerns or suggestions regarding the above process? I'm just being extra careful not to mess up this knife. Thank you
