Maintaining cocobolo handles?

Noticed that the cocobolo handles on my M4 have a few spots that look a little worn, like the finish is rubbing off:

Is this normal? Does it just need some routine maintenance / treatment (and if so, with what), or is this something I should be concerned about?
 
It should be stabilized wood, but the surface will show wear in time and use.

You could try Renaissance wax, tung oil, or mineral oil rubbed on the surface which will minimize the rough appearance.
