I just got my first lockable folding knife, what should I get to maintain the knife? What are some things I should buy to lubricate the knife and to prevent rusting. I got the knife in D2 steel and I heard that D2 has a tendency to pit and even rust if poorly maintained, and I hope to avoid that. If I get the knife wet should I only worry about drying just the blade or should I also try to dry the metal liners? And finally an odd question, does having oily or sweaty hands increase the chances that the metal liners will rust or corrode? Thanks in advance:).

Just keep the blade clean and dry when you're not using it, doesn't really require any more maintenance than a typical pocket knife.

Don't put it away wet and you be fine. You can use a dry lube for the pivot if you need it. Although many guys use any sort of oil .
