I had an Sng with a very tight lock up that was very tough to disengage one handed even after a lot of "cycling".
Over the weekend, I just saturated the pivot/ lock area with WD40...then "detailed" all the surfaces with paper towels and q-tips. Really cleaning it out. Then I injected even more WD40 into it...just held the trigger and let it fly...all sorts of sh*t came out...little springs, an old sandwich, 2 pr. of missing socks, some snot.
then, I detailed the surfaces AGAIN, cleaning all the nooks and crannies, especially the end of the ti. lock bar. I got all the WD40 out and off. The surfaces and pivot are dry now.
Well, what a difference, the blade opens far more smoothly and the lock is one handed-able. I might hit the pivot with miltec, but maybe not.
I can't explain why the improvement, but it is smoother now
God I love this knife.....
EDIT: the lock up is still totally solid
