How To Make a Wa Handle

I bought some knives from an Asian grocery store. The handles are Wa style and made of plastic and slide off easily. Does anyone have any step by step instructions or pictures for making wood Wa style handles?

If you want a removable handle you'll have to bed it by using the wax and epoxy method, or broaching a snug fit or burning it in or a combination of these. The dowel method tends to be a bit sloppy which doesnt matter because the epoxy tightens everything up. Lots of good videos on this subject are out there.

I permanently mount mine with epoxy. Use the Custom Search Engine and you will find many threads on making a wa handle. \

Wa handles can be purchased pre-made from many places, too.
