I managed to get a Hudson Bay knife in 7inches, my question, can you regrind it for me so that it has has more of a higher flat grind? I like it a lot, just a tad too heavy, so I wanted start the grind nearer the top. Any ideas? I was thinking just a little more time on the grinder.

I`m sorry, but I don`t rework completed knives. There is always a chance of overheating the steel, and turning it into scrap. If the original buyer had a problem, I would give them the choice of a refund, or a new knife, I can`t do that if it was purchased on the secondary market.

No problem, I just wanted to ask. I hope Hanna is doing well. Take care.

Cbach8tw, I just left you a visitor message.

A 7 incher is too heavy? In use or for carrying?
If wearing it on a belt,I suppose it would be.
It sounds like you might need a Belt Hawk from John...light & capable.

I loved my 9 inch HB for chopping but never carried it on a belt,it was my camp chopper & stayed in camp.
I don't walk to camp,I drive so the weight didn't bother me.;)
I did knock the shoulders down to thin the edge with rough to fine diamond hones, made a hell of a difference in performance.
Be glad you didn't get the Chop Muk when I had it up for sale, that thing is HEAVY.

If price is an issue you could find yourself a nice old cleaver, they work great for camp chores too.
