Make the wait worse...or better

I went to a knife show yesterday and was unable to find anything that really tickled my fancy within the prescribed budget. For the better part of this morning I've been browsing GEC stock and finally settled on getting a slimline single blade trapper in walnut. It was hard to fend off the executive whittlers and new lockback wharncliffes but I think this pattern will be a good one for me.

So does anyone out there have photos of their GEC slimlines they'd like to share in order to sweeten the torture while I wait? ;)

Geees that blade on the ebony is a mean little sucker!...it's sort of inbetween a trapper and Wharnie....or is it the photo?

campbell that is the exec whitt the model that followed the short lived melon tester. certainly the most elegant of gec offerings. may i say your enthusiasm on the forum is most appreciated. thanks for your participation.

Dennis & Eric, thanks for the pics. I just got shipping confirmation from the dealer this morning so by the end of the week I should have my own example in hand.

One last twist of the knife, so to speak, on this one. I was thinking it might arrive today. Got home from the market and checked the mailbox - no package.

I'm sorting through all the assorted junk catalogs that get sent this time of year and find one of those little slips from the PO that let you know they're holding something for you.

Hmmmm. It's got my name on it and the GEC trapper is the only package I'm expecting. The slip says I have to sign for it. I check the tracking info online and it says the package is insured for over $200, thus requiring the signature. This is odd since the price paid isn't even $75. Perhaps the value was miskeyed or something. Oh well, one more day won't hurt...much. :)

My man didn't have any of those, must have been a special release?

Regard, W

The GEC dealer who had them said they were part of a 6 knife run. I'm not sure if they were a SFO or if that dealer just got all of the run. He may have just got the one. If so, I didn't see these anywhere else, either.

Eric.
