Hey everyone I'm a new knife maker and I am look to make balisong knives. I dont want to deal with stamping in a stopping pin so I found these screw together ones at assistiedknife.com. I am not sure how many come in one order but if its only one im not buying from that website. For one pin the cost is $7. If anybody knows of another website that sells something like this PLEASE LET ME KNOW! It would be a great help. Thanks, SpydercoLover

Are you talking about a thumbstud? Those are the only ones that I can think of that screw together. Why are you against pressing in pins? If you want a small amount of room for error you could always use spring pins until you figure out the right tolerances.

I have seen the balisong you have made and i really like it. I also see that you press in your own pins (lol) What would you recommend to be the best way to press them in? I really appreciate the help.

I use 1/8" hardened dowel pins from Mcmaster-carr. I drill the hole for the pins using a 7/64" drill bit than ream with a .1240" chucking reamer. I use a small arbor press to press them in. Make sure that any finishing that you want to do has been done. It can be a bear to do afterwards.

Here is a link to a wip thread I just did. It shows how I press the pins in.
