Makers are collectors, too...???

Well, the subject line should be pretty clear...
I have always wondered if custom knifemakers also c o l l e c t knives (from their competitors;) )?
Or is knifemaking for them "just a job"...

Let's hear it from some knifemaker/collector!

I think most of us, myself included, own knives from other makers. Let's face it, we love knives and we want more. And like Jerry Fisk once told me, "I've never been too interested in collecting my own knives". :D
 
Nice choice Matt that is going to be some clean work.

I know quite a few who collect. Many trade as well as buy to add to their collections.

I know of many makers that collect other makers knives. Often, their collections are amonst the nicest around. Sometimes I think that a few of the makers spend everything they make on their own knives to buy the knives of others.
