Makers: drain hole in soft sheath build question.

Hi, I scored my first semi-collectible item, an original Vietnam era (1967) army issue machete. I opted for a no original sheath version to save a not insignificant amount of money.

After 30 seconds of use I decided this will be a user not an ornament for possible future resale. I am going to make a sheath from fire hose material. I want to add a thick rubber sheath base where the machete tip rests and have a drain hole in it that is basically a brass hollow plug.

Where are such plugs sourced, what is the "real" name for them. If anyone has a tutorial video on how to insert one would be a bonus.

Cheers.
