Once in a while, I meet knife makers who tell me what they did as a vocation until the time the steel bug bit them. This is all very interesting. Some have been artists, others in technology fields, others fresh out of military service.

Does anyone know makers who did other work prior to getting into the knife making realm? What was it that got them interested in creating great custom steel beauties?

Well me i have been a machinist , a full time locksmith of 20 years, and currently trying to go full time as a "Maker " why probably beacuse i am crazy! the money is not so good there are lot's of health risk's. as a few people say it is the unique ability to put part of me in to each knife, soul, style, or whatever you want to call it! sometimes you just feel that the knife is "Right" and know not to change it .:) :footinmou
