Recommendation? Makers mark

I have a couple knives with a makers mark of an R with a circle around it. The tail of the R comes out of circle a bit. Nothing else inside circle but the R. Similar to the trademark sign. Dont think its Chris Reeve unless he had an early mark like what i described. Any challenge takers??
