Hey guys, I’m looking for a solution on how to etch my logo on my knives. I’ve been currently using a 9v battery, crocodile clips, cotton buds and carving electricians tape as my stencil. Where oh where can I order sticky stencils that I can just stick on the knife? Or whats a better solution? My printer laughed when I told him the dimensions i needed, pretty much a no go but if anyone knows anyone online, I would appreciate the pointer. Really dont mind if its from the US either (tax cant be that bad). Cheers!

Another option is a cheap Chinese laser. Coat the area in black nail polish. Burn the logo in with the laser and then etch. Very easy to do custom logos this way.

I've had great success with TUS Industries stencils and an etcher built off of Chris Crawford's tutorial.

I designed my Maker's Mark in PowerPoint to scale, made ~3 options, and posted it on here for opinions. That feedback really helped me get it refined.

This is my wiring tutorial on the etching machine based on CC's design. I will note... my production quality wasn't very good on this video and I used a bunch of scrap wire with the same color... so sorry if that bothers anyone.

Another solid option with many good reviews over the years is img-electromark.com

Thanks for this, I’ve been watching your videos on Youtube man, really like your work! :)

You do not want to actually laser engrave but laser sinter melting can work.. I'd advise against doing so because of this thing called science. Spyderco and such do a 2D sinter print that's actually raised. It's not so much the heat from the laser, but the way steel melts leads to stress risers inherently because of these science things called habit planes. It's not cheap to get a proper makers mark. Period.

I also made an etcher from Chris Crawford's design. I make my own stencils using a Brother P-Touch label printer and a stencil cartridge. Really happy with the results.

Here is a recent example before I'd done finish sanding/buffing.

I did this, but took the lazy option and bought a DC lab power supply on amazon, then just turned one of the leads into the electrode he shows in this video. Seems to do well.
