maker's mark

Which way do you guys put on your maker's mark if you put it on the ricasso area?
I've seen it mostly where you can read the makers name on the ricasso when the knife is held in the hand with the blade pointing up, but sometimes the mark is put on where you have to point the blade down to read it.

Man this is going to be an ugly can of worms... Most folks can't agree which side to mark, much less which way to orient it...

Personally though, I make it either so that my mark is legible with the knife horizonal edge down or knife veritical point down. I have marked a couple backwards and it still drives me nuts...

Which side to put you mark, is up to you. The location of it would depend on the grind. Where ever it looks right.

I mark my blades on the left side, but know others who use the right, just to be different.

Sometimes I put my mark on the ricasso area, and sometimes on the blade itself. It depends on the knife, and the grind.
