Makers on this thread - what about a collaboration project after the Blade show?

Here is what I am thinking. Take all of the makers - and sub makers (meaning those not Andy) that post regularly in this thread - to collaboratively design and make a knife and sheath combo.

As I see it - here is what we could have seperate people do:

1) Knife design - maybe a collaboration between a few people - one takes the blade - the other the handle.
2) Cut out and rough grind.
3) Heat Treat and any surface treatments.
4) Final grind
5) Handle
6) Sheath design
7) Sheath making

Maybe even a firesteel.

Have as many of us working on it - over a time - possible - to make a sweet knife that we can call a Fiddleback Forum knife - maybe do a giveaway where the proceeds go to charity - or to a maker who needs a new tool to keep his craft going.

Thoughts?

(As we have three sheath guys on here now - it would be fun to work with them to come up with a sheath for it - I would love to be a part of it.)

You are always thinking, Tal. Sounds like a neat idea! I'd be interested in what happens.....

Three sheath makers...? I see how it is.:D

Thats it, I'm not making sheaths for any more Fiddlebacks. J/k

Honestly J -

I thought of you primarily as a blade maker.

I sent you a PM on an idea I had for you and I to undertake.

I know, I'm just yankin' your chain. :D:p

All chain yankage aside, this sounds like a great collaboration and one bonafide HELLUVA idea! This thread I will monitor closely! It would definitely make for one "show stopper" of a package.
