Maker's Stamp

I can never seem to get my stamp to come out even. Having a 10 letter last name doesn't help at all. Do any of you use some sort of jig to hold it in place, or just a small arbor press. I find it sometimes slips under the press. You can never line it up and try again, at least I can't. Any advice other than shorten my name?

Mostly it's not getting the stamp on the surface square to the surface. I used a piece of heater hose for a handle, I get better feel than a solid handle. works for me

Riverside Knife supplies(uncle Al's) makes a jig to hold the stamp
and you hit the top and it keeps the stamp in line and puts even pressure on the whole stamp.I am not sure what the web site is?
