Hello, I'm looking for an outdoor/hunting knife. I would like a fixed bladed knife that has a blade from 3.5-5 inches made with CPM3V. The handle can be either G-10 or micarta and the knife HAS to be full tang. The blade also needs to be convexed so it would be nice if it came like that or any info on who can do it for me for low $$$. THANKS

Dan Koster...Tom Krein...K9 Knives (Tom Krein's production knife company).
Butch Harner (butcher_block here on BF) uses it also.

I have a scandi bushcraft knife by Dan Koster and a small wharncliff necker from Butch Harner both in 3V and love them. There are in my "never sell" drawer.

Zero Tolerance makes a straight knife in 3V but it has a more tactical look as opposed to a traditional hunter....cool knife though.

Dan Koster...But you can't put CPM3V and low $$$ in the same sentence. This steel is expensive!

Bark River has just made a new knife called the Lil' Canadian out of CPM 3V that meets your requirements. It is just being delivered now to www.knivesshipfree.com I believe it will be exclusively sold by KSF. They have one picture up now and more to come soon.

Good luck in your search.

defaultuser- do you not qualify for this yourself? i thought i saw you using that steel....
have a look at his profile and check out his work. i'm pretty sure i've seen him use it. may be wrong though.

I understand CPM3V is spendy, I meant if the edge is not convexed if there is someone who can do that for a low fee. Thanks for the input so far, I knew of a few of these makers but i still can't decide!

:eek:OMG!!I am so getting that!!!

Jeremy Horton can make 3V knives.

And he's young enough that we can actually afford those knives.;)

Whatever you're buying, do it soon. With the dissolution of CPM in bankruptcy set for September 21, the world has probably seen the last of 3V, at least for the foreseeable future.
