Making a cheap bufugly but useful sheath

I haven't watched it, but am interested in any good sheath-making videos. I am working on one made of leather, all hand-stitched.

Wow, those are pretty fugly, but functional. I give them a 6.

I like PVC sheaths for machetes. Its a fast, and very durable way to keep the 'chete on you when you need to draw and replace it often (trail maintenance).

Seen this before, but it was worth a revisit. I may try to make a couple out of the grey stuff. Got some Tramontinas that need homes.

Can you post up when you are done please. You guys may have forgotten more than I know about knives, but I do find this stuff to be quite interesting.

Yeah, it a Condor Parang in 1085. They have a great heat treat for tough tools. I have beet the snot out of this thing and it is tough as nails. It's a full 1/4in thick and it is very weight forward so its a hell of a chopper, great for shelter craft.

Hmmmm, darn it. I was kind of talked out of ordering one of those. What I read was that Condors kind of sucked for quality. I like them and should have researched a little more.............:( Well, maybe BKT can brighten my winter up soon.

Condor had been hit or miss on the knives since they are fairly new to their line up. When they first came out they had a lot of QC issues but thats to be expected. Their machetes, parangs, and goloks are top notch. You'll have a real hard time finding people that have been unhappy with Condor's big choppers and slashers.

I have about 3 machetes currently that are sheath-less I've seen the pvc thing, but I may just go with some single ply cardboard and some old jeans or something as a cover, dunno...

Yep and I hope it stays that way, it will help keep the price down:D

with a manufacturing plant operating 24/7 slamming out machetes to the world with its parent company Imacasa.. and ties to Germany dating back to the late 1700's, though being a littler newer in the fold I guess it just took a little time to work out the kinks.. I for one LOVE my golok, I bought a leather sheath with it and WOW !!!!! can you say quality??? and, and, and, did I mention it was $16???:thumbup: I'm sure someday I will have that parong you have there, maybe not that very one but one just like it:D

Pretty cool, plastic electrical conduit bends easier from my experiance. It is more rubbery and usually found in gray color too.

Generous on the asthetics. I'd go 4. Look at the ones made of PVC whole pipe. I've done a couple now, and you can form them as much or little as you like, and cover them w leather and a bit of adhesive for a better look.
