I decided to make my first fixed blade hunting knife and thought I would post a few picks before it is finished.
Here the handles are rough shaped and the blade has been ground (covered w/tape sorry)
A little sloppy punching my initials in it but oh well.

O1 steel 60-61 Rc
Ebony handles
Bright green G10 liners

N/S Pins

Looks very well thought-out and functional, with elegant lines. Nice shape to the handle. Post some pix of the finished blade for us, please.

I like the contours on the handles.

Primble, duct tape? :barf: It's masking Tape!:D

Ready for final finishing. I put a slight drop point on it so it will not "dig in" to the guts when field dressing yet have enough belly to take the hide off.

Nice work Bro. Come on up to Canada where the White tails are big and the Moose plentiful. Just had Two beautiful young 8 pointers in my "yard" yesterday. Great work Mark.

Now that the duct/masking tape is gone - it is looking really nice Mark !! Keep us posted.;):D

I LIKE it!! Nice work! That's a great looking knife. It should work really well for hunting, skinning and butchering game. Well done.

Something to think about on a using knife. Before putting the scales on, finish your sanding on the blade. Lay a clean 240 grit finish, then tape the blade. A high polish finish is hard to keep nice on a work knife. A 240 grit finish will look very nice.

Take a look at Nick Wheeler's "Stuck in the metal with you" thread and all of his hand sanding videos. The man is a genius.
