A few months ago I won a brand-new minty-fresh BK-11, courtesy of an awesome giveaway hosted by Clich… (thanks again, fella!) Well, I didn’t have it long before I sent it out for a little custom work. It just came back the other day: new black canvas micarta scales with blue G-10 liners and stitched black leather sheath. Now the handle simply melts into my hand in a very comfortable and secure three-finger grip, and the sheath is just incredible… carries like a dream! Fantastic custom job by fellow Forum member Defaultuser!:cool::thumbup:

Should have gotten a better shot of the blue G-10 scale liners... the final product deserves better pics! :o

Just thought you Beckerheads would like to take a peek! Thanks for looking! :)

Looking very good. I really like those scales. Did the same guy do all the custom work?

The key question: does the bottle opener still work?

Wow, that looks fantastic!

The handle/grips look really comfy and solid. The only thing I'd add (and I want to do so for my 14) is some jimping on the spine.

Man that thing does look nice. It hardly looks Becker anymore, lol. Everything came out great, the sheath especially. It's got a little bushcrafter look to it now

Oh, you betcha. In fact, that was the lynch-pin of the entire deal. He asked if I wanted a longer handle that would cover the cap-lifter... then he laughed, I laughed, and after everyone dried their eyes, he said "yeah, so the beer opener will be functional..." It is known that a good knife will never leave ya thirsty! :D

I'd originally asked for a firesteel loop and Default incorporated one into the original sheath design, but in the end I decided I wanted a slimmer, trimmer, city-slicker type sheath. I would agree that it still has that utility/bushcrafty flavour, but on the belt it is quite subtle. Looks no more out of place than a cell phone holster. Love it! Thanks for the kind comment!

The scales make an unbelievable difference! Feels like a completely different knife! As much as I love my ESEE Izula, my BK-11 is now my favourite small fixed-blade... Of course, the sheath makes it far more comfortable for EDC type carry. Thanks for looking!

I definitely tested it on a chilled Old Forhorn Ale before sending it back to timberweasel :)
