I recently finished this one, thanks for checking it out! :D

416 Layer Damascus made from 52100/5160/15n20/203E steel. Very tough stuff!
About 3/16" thick
8.25" long with a 4" blade and 4.25" handle
West System epoxy soaked cord over premium black rayskin with hand cut dinosaur bone

The dinosaur bone is gem grade petrified bone from my local area, it is hard to tell from my video but it is a nice dark red and took a great polish! The dinosaur bone is harder than steel, it must be cut with a wet diamond setup. I used about 8 stages of diamond to rough shape and polish the stone ranging from 80 to 50,000 grit. The bone has a cell pattern that I think goes well with the rayskin.

The video covers the making of the knife from the cutting of the Damascus billet all the way up to the finished knife.

Thanks for watching and please press like if you enjoyed thew video.

Nice knife:thumbup:

I have been lucky so far, only had to break the ice in the bucket a couple of times:p

That is a great looking knife!I wish i had your rock polishing grinder.Beautiful country.Love Co.

Nice. Looked cold in your shop.
Thanks! Yes it has been cold in there lately, my shop is in a carport! I hope to get a real shop built very soon, hopefully started this week.

Thanks!

I'm considering a bucket warmer like they use for livestock, lol!

Pretty nice! Interesting grind too.
Thanks! It is a flat chisel grind with a convex tip... the tip is zero ground with a somewhat steep bevel which morphs into the convex edge/microbevel grind. Lol sounds complicated! :D

Much appreciated!

I lusted after the Diamond Genie for years while I used my Inland for lapidary work! :D I used to mine/collect/cut stone for a living so I finally got the Genie when I went full time into cutting. I actually got into knives because I wanted to do stone handles and knifemaking is so addictive I barely even do lapidary anymore.

I have an 18" Frantom saw I will set up once my new shop is up, I have tons of big rough to cut into slabs.

Thanks for all the positive comments everyone!

That is a great looking blade.

What is the best part it is something beautiful and unique you can carry and actually use as a knife.

The dinosaur bone is very cool. I've got a pair of ammonite fossil cabochons that are waiting for the right knife to go on.

Much appreciated! yes it does look pretty but I'd carry it anywhere, it should be tough as can be! :D

Thanks! You have ammonite, that would look great on a blade! Tough stuff to cut right as well, the color layers are hard to hit right. I have a few pieces and some ammolite I'd love to use one day for inlay. Once I get my new shop in order I have literally tons of rough I may incorporate into my knives.

Man love your videos and knives! One day Im gonna have to make a road trip to see some in person!

Hey Daniel, love the knife and vid. By the way the shirt came in and I love it. Secondly you make me look like a poon, it's 38 here today and I can't seem to want to be out there. I even have an enclosed shop (just not insulated or heated). Damnit I am going now, must not be afraid, if you guys up north can do I can too. Ok I feel better.
