Figured I'd make a Platform trap today, first up was to cut two sticks for the posts and sharpen them up~

I pounded the posts in with the side of my knife and also a third stick on the opposite side of the deer trail. I then rigged up the other parts till I had it like this~

I'm sure your wondering how I managed to knock anything in anywhere with that knife, well I had two knives with me today, this was my ' Pounder '~

I then lay some other sticks onto the trigger stick and covered the whole thing over with moss, I didn't
spend as long as I should doing this but even so you can see how it soon starts to blend in~

Even at this time of year some berries can still be found, Bear berries~

I'd cut my finger making the trap so used some of this Rattlesnake plantain to help it heal~

Climbed a little hill to get a view~

Pitdog, great pics as always, man I hope some day I can come up and see the places you hike in, in person.
I love the trap pics. great job. The rattlesnake plantain is a cool. I have used broadleaf and narrow leaf for cuts
before and stings too, It really is a great plant to know and use.
