Making a sheath

excuse my bad writing. I've decided to make a more elaborate sheath for my knife I made few months back. I made basic sheath then. This design is partially based off what comes up in google searches of "mountain knife sheath" and similar searches. The knife has a 4 inch blade roughly so my dilemma has been how to add more to the sheath since it has to be smaller. So I decided to cover handle. Before I start making this, has anyone ever seen a sheath cover most of the handle of a fixed blade when the sheath is not folded over but actually two pieces attached? I just want to see as I couldn't find any similar enough and don't wanna waste time. Any suggestions welcome as well. The glued coin may become something else I don't know yet.

You mean like this?
Granted, it doesn't cover "most" of the handle; but I prefer having a reasonable amount of the handle out, so I have something to grab. (That is the case, even with fold-over style sheath...the more of the handle that is covered by the sheath, the less easy it is to grasp the knife)

If your preference is for greater handle coverage, it doesn't seem that it would be an overly big deal to extend the front portion higher to accomplish that (in terms of of initially making the sheath, not retrofitting)

Hi Blade Dude I would definitely recommend using graph paper when drawing designs. That way you could easily replicate copies by doing a 100% scale photocopy and also easily adjust the fit by playing around with the dimensions :)
