I have spent yesterday's afternoon at Sr. Bíde's shop learning how to forge the enterço - the handle part of a sorocabana - and today have worked of fitting my blade on an enterço he made, besides forging another blade.
I have to tell you that from seeing the old artisan making it to slot the handle and make it fit the blade by myself there is a looong distance - but it was fun and this first piece should be ready in some 2 or 3 more days, when I'll show it at the Forums.
It is tiring and it will take a long while for me to learn half of what I need but forging is definitelly a lot of fun and something I'll devote more time to.
