making a strop

I've been reading alot on making my own strop, so I stopped by Tandy leathers and bought a strip. I was at the store for over 1/2 hour talking to the guy at the store (chit chatting) and he ended up giving me some white jewelers rogue( about 2"). One less stop I had to make. Know I have to put it together.

So? How are going to do it? One sided or two?
Some people just staple a strip of leather to piece of wood, and there you go!

I bought a piece of red oak 2 1/2" wide. The leather is also 2 1/2" wide. I only did one side for now and I attatched it with contact cement. I also made a smaller one for the field. One is 14" and the field one is 10" long(the leather part is 6 3/4"). I still have 32" of leather left. Next one may be three sided??
