Where would a guy go to have a good quality sword made. Something nice but reasonably priced (Under $2,000.00) I know the old experts like Phil Hartsfiled, JSP, Busse, Wally Hayes and the like but I'm not looking for a $5,000.00 sword... Cause I know how much use a sword will get in the real world. Any links or contact info would be appreciated.

There are some forums you might want to check out, as well as the sword board here.

www.myarmoury.com swordforum.com www.netsword.com

For Japanese style swords, a good place to vist is the forums at www.bugei.com

There are many makers and smiths that could build you a dandy sword for less than $2000 and some that will let you spend that and more.

Splendid, quality, reproductions can be had for less than $1000. Here are a couple of American firms offering European flavors
www.albionarmorers.com and www.armor.com

All in all, you get what you pay for, just like knives; only bigger. Better bang for the buck, in my opinion.

They do more than khukuris. Do a search on the HI forum, you should find some reviews there.

P.S. Way under $2000
