This knife needs a little love and I don't mind at all giving it to her. The plan is to bump the BG-42 G-10 off the belt (at least for a while) for this one when I'm done. I think the ironwood will do nicely.

Well fellas I'm sitting here shaking my head. This one has been like wrestling with a greased pig. First thing I did was epoxy my spring, then popped off the scale, then broke one. Ahhhhaaaaggggg. It was nice ironwood too. I think I'm going for a pizza and movie rental.

The frame is all ready for tomorrow's effort. Maybe I'll do better with a new day.
I'll have to pick something else for inlay...no more ironwood.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I closed the blade on my finger too. Its just on knick but bleed like no tomorrow.
I've glued the spring before. I'll have to work something out with that.

Where, did you get that drop pt. blade? You said BG42, O-is that the S30V they made a while back? Thats a nice looking blade. DM

I finished fitting and sanding inlay and was working on cleaning up the bolsters when I noticed a bit of a rise on the front of one of the inlay pieces. Same place the ironwood popped.

I'm going to soak off this pair and get some different stuff to re-glue them up. I've been recommended Locite 326 so I'll get some of that. Anyway, Here is the good side.

Like I said this one has be difficult.

+1 to David Martin's question:
How did you get that 110 with a drop-point blade?
Limited edition?

Are they still available???

Thanks,
Mike

Flat, Someone has already done something to that knife to get it in that condition. For that knife was offered w/ the nickle silver frame but with finger grooves?? So, someone has already installed the drop pt. blade into a standard nickle silver frame. Were there a few of those blades left over from the factory? DM

i have one of thoes with drop point and NO finger groves they came with stag..
there were two that left the factory like that and
only thoes two that i have ever heard of..
some time ago i seen some drop point blades for sale on the bay..
dont know were they came from...

...Dave and decaf...I'm not sure if you remember back when these were released to the club members but the one I got has NO FINGER GROOVES from the factory. It's the way it was sent to me by Larry...Here's a pic...

Darryl, Then you may have the exception. For the Dec. 2005 issue of the club magazine on pg. 10 has two pictures of the knife and both have finger grooves and the writing portion under the photo states, "finger grooves". DM

...Yep...I was told to hang on to this one as it's about the only Fundraiser 110 of this issue without the grooves...I did buy another with the finger grooves to make the 110/112 set complete...

Its in the sheath and on the belt...done. May buff up the bolsters, may not.

Guys, this was an internet deal like a lot of the knives in my collection...sometimes there is a deal out there and its not eBay. Try keeping an eye on that auction site that sells guns:eek:

Great job, Flatlander!

I would buff the bolsters, as it will provide a nice contrast with the wood.
