Are there any tutorials on making your own G-10? I tried the search but no luck. I read the thread on making Micarta and was thinking might be able to use fiberglass cloth used in auto body repair instead of denim and use the same process with the resin, but would need to color it somehow. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance.

Marine supply places up here sell resin and colorant as well as fabrics made from fiberglass, Kevlar, or carbon fiber (try Hamilton Marine). Just realize that while you'll be making a fiberglass composite (or Kevlar, or CF), it won't specifically be Grade 10 Garolite (aka G-10), which is graded so that engineers can depend on its properties.

That said, the processes used to make homebrew micarta should apply to any homebrew composite. So, yes, you should be able to make something akin to G-10 in any color you can find dye(s) for.

Thanks for the info F. Allin Kahrl. I have the resin, all I need is the colorant and I will try it. Thanks again for the help.
