A month ago I got a message for offering a custom blade for my new Camillus Jolt.
It was going to work out in my benefit, or so it seemed.
This is what I got.

So, in my opinion, the tip was useless, the edge geometry was comically uneven, the finish was terrible, and traction on the spine was non existent (all things I spoke with the maker about before he made the blade, not to mention I told him I wanted a 4-4.75 inch blade and it turned out to be 3.75 inches) and the sheath was a joke. I didn't know if he was rushing or if he just sucks as a knife maker.
After a lot of excuses from the maker, I decided to make the blade into something useful.

1. I used my benchgrinder to grind off the humpback into a drop point-ish blade shape
2. I used some polishing media to polish out the acid tiger stripes (rotary tool)
3. I put some jimping on the back (rotary tool)
4. I pulled out my Edge Pro Apex and put a workable edge on the shoddy convex grind he put on there originally.
5. I am commissioning a kydex sheath be made by my buddy at Headlock Holsters as the nylon sheath provided doesn't fit, the stitching is horrendous, and the velcro strap he poorly sewed on is useless, etc.
It was my first time doing such a project.
This blade was going to be a user from the onset, now I have something I can actually use.
It was fun, aside from the crap I put up with from Mr. Knife Maker guy.
