Hi all,
I am interested in making a Chauve-souris (http://metmuseum.org/Collections/search-the-collections/23212?rpp=20&pg=1&rndkey=20140515&ao=on&ft=*&deptids=4&when=A.D.+1400-1600&where=Europe&what=Arms&pos=5) out of a leaf spring and am wondering what steps and techniques some of you smiths out there you use to make it.
I'm thinking maybe splitting one half of a shorter leaf into 3 strips, one for each wing and the central one to fan out and form into a socket.
Cheers
