Wasn't carrying my Paperstone Vantage as much, since the liner lock stands up enough that it made it hard to use the thumbhole for me being left-handed. Never could get used to the "flipper" either, so I saw someone else do this to another knife and last night tried the "zip tie" thing and it's a simple cheap "fix", but works great as a thumbstud.

the zip tie mod is actually a "poor man's wave". A wave feature on a knife is a notch on the spine that you snag your pants pocket on when taking out your knife. this pulls the blade of the knife out and opens the knife really fast. try it out. it looks like you will have to put the big part more on the top though. it looks kind of like this.

Heres a Video of cutleryover using the zip tie wave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYq82P06eMw

I'm familiar with the wave thing knivesngear, but I deliberately made sure mine won't snag and open the blade. Its a feature some folks like, but not me...blade opening in or near pocket...:eek:
