My next door neighbor is a wood worker and he lets me dig through his off cuts of wood, I grab oak and walnut mostly. I’ve made a headphone stand and some other things but today I made a small stand for my watch so instead of just laying it on my desk now it rides upright and visible when working on the computer. As I don’t wear it indoors as we have clocks in about every room of the house.
Base is oak and the upright is walnut, glued down and I have 5 narrow bamboo dowels going through the base and into the walnut for support.

Of course my wife doesn’t get it but it keeps me busy and dresses up my desk too

I love it Gary! I need to build something like that 🤔

Thanks I intentionally made the angle of the base steeper than the upright the base is at 30 degrees the upright is angled a little less and the back end of the top of the upright is directly above the start of the base bevel
The bamboo dowels are skewers you can get at the grocery store about 1/8” diameter

side view, I laid out the pattern for the larger dowels 1/4” so it keeps the watch in position
