Making omega springs

Just broke a 3rd spring on my 746 in the last 5 months, getting tired of it. I'm wondering if anyone knows the best way to go about making homemade omega springs.
 
Use wire that has some sort of spring to it. Maybe look for some ideas on youtube?
 
The act of making them for me was only slightly challenging. I used acoustic guitar string. The largest diameter that would fit did not have as strong of a spring as the original. I would not suggest it.

I was wondering if there are electric strings that may be better? Or some other type. I used expensive strings just not effective IMO.

Would titanium work for this? When titanium is used to make a spring is it heat treated? Before or after shaping?

Electric guitar springs will work. My buddy made 2, but together they were too stiff so he just left one in there. As far as I know, he's had the same spring in there for about 7 months now.
