I cannot wait until these heal, so I can get back to the most fun set of challenges I have had in a while...that is learning to shave with a straight.

Getting the angle right is critical (along with about 40 other things) but I'm loving this challenge.

Anyone else want to share their cut pictures?

Painting my bathroom red was probably a good idea;)

Unit, Yes I have done that as well. On cheek and chin too. Setting the edge angle meticulously for each stroke is critical. Only shave after the second cup of coffee and not rushed. I went to shaving at the evening
as I had more time. Plus, nicks didn't look so bad the next morning. :) Keep trying you'll get it. DM

Thanks...that was my third shave;)

I always shave in the evening because I do not have the time in my morning. I will persevere and figure things out. I have a lot of learning to do!

I also want some more gear...I started out basic, but I think I want to get a little more elaborate with my RAD.

Stick with as there is a sense of accomplishment in straight razor shaving. The strokes are more difficult and one must gain indepth sharpening skills. Best of luck to you, DM

Enjoy! I haven't taken the plunge into straight razor shaving yet. DE blades are cheap, but straight razor shaving definitely seems like an art that would be very satisfying to master. Except in this guy's case. WARNING: funny as hell-->

Unit, It really does get better as your skill improves. Make the strokes easy and carefully with little pressure. DM

I agree and today I had a real step forward. It was a great shave!

I also learned to lock the door. I had three people barg in suddenly and it startled me...but no cuts. You would think I'd have locked the door after the first one...I'm a slow learner in some categories I guess;)
