I've been carrying and using a Paramilitary (C81G) for quite some time and am definitely a big fan.

Well, yesterday I got in a Paramilitary 2 (C81G2) from Knifeworks and put the old one away and the new one in my pocket.

Now, will the 2 become as old and comfortable as the original? Only time will tell.

What I can tell you from my initial impression is that the 2 is going to need a little time to break in but the ergonomic improvements are definitely comfortable. The G10 slabs on the 2 have nice, crisp edges but my PMil may have had those too. I'm sure that's one of those things that will smooth out with carry and use.

It came late yesterday so it hasn't even had a chance to cut anything yet but that's all about to change.

Yeah, I'm a little late to the party but I didn't get my ParaMilitary until a few months before they were discontinued. :)

So now it's time to work...

I was carrying a para military 1 when I received my para II,I immediately put away my para 1,and haven't looked back.I did give my old para a good sharpening on the edge pro before puttiing it away, just in case I get sentimental, and feel a need to carry it for a while.

i did the same. carried a paramilitary 1 for about a year and a half, then switched to the paramilitary 2 about a month ago. really liking the para2 so far.

I'm on my fourth paramilitary 2. Every time I sell one off I miss it soo much I buy another, this one is staying (hopefully)!

Love me the para 1 but I just had to check out the para2. Now it's here, and I don't find that much of a difference right off except for a slight blade wobble in the para 2 that's not in the para1.

So the camo para 2 is going in my pocket and we'll see after a week or so.

yes all mine have had very SLIGHT blade play side to side. its so minimal idc honestly and im super anal when it comes to lockup.

I can live with the wobble, I guess but I would like it so much better without the blade play. I wonder if a pivot can be made that's not bushing system.

I got a good one here with NO blade play in any direction.

The edge grind on one side is a little bit wonky but that's something that'll get fixed over time with sharpening and stropping.

So far I'm lovin' it. More than the P-Mil? I don't know about that but so far so good. :D

Hmmm. I've got 4 para2s and I have been amazed with just how solid they all lock up. No blade play in any direction on any of them.
Is your pivot tightened down all the way?

I've had a P1 and recently got a P2. I sold the P1 (D2/green G10) b/c I just didn't like the feel in the hand like my Military, so I sold it. Since the P2 craze has settled and inventory is available I picked on up to see if it was really any better than the P1. YEP!! 10x better. Since I got it, it has replaced my trusty Military and I like it more and more everyday. I'll pickup a second when I can find a pattern I like available (black/black?). BTW... my compression lock was tight and "stuck" a bit when I got it.. two weeks later it is butter smooth. Just play with it on the couch at night a bit and it will be perfect in a few weeks. Also, mine prefers to be dry.. not lubed. I lubed it when I got it and it made everything worse. Cleaned it up and slick as butter now.

Yes even with the pivot tightened to the point the knives are stiff to open they've all got the exact same slight play. It's weird it's the exact same amount of play in each

its a very minimal play i seriously am convinced its due to the pivot bushing design in these knives. I am almost completely positive. thats just my opinion.

Oh yes, I agree. That's actually stopped me from buying the PM2 immediately because of the blade play that I experienced in the manix 2 with the same bushing pivot system.

They say it gets better with use tho so we shall see. I doubt it lol but hopefully

Ok, I was able to dial away the blade play with tweaking the pivot and stop pin. It's a little harder to open but I'll take that anytime over blade play. Now if I can just even up the bevels on this because I got one with really uneven bevels. Also the funky blade shape that one guy posted about his grey para. But even with just the blade play dialed away, I'm pretty happy.

Well that's good news!! On mine no matter what I did there was still a hint of blade play.

Got my new para today. Happy to say that there is no blade play. I stand corrected! It had some when I first opened it up but a slight turn on the pivot screw made it disappear. It's slighty harder to open but again it is literally brand new. It will smooth out and become my favorite knife for years to come.
