I've been looking at the kydex making tools on knifekits and similar sites. Thinking of getting into this as a little hobby. Anyone played with this before? Any tips or other sites I should look at?

Also thinking I could use the same size press for most handgun holsters, but would I need dummy guns or could I use the actual pistol?

Hey Guys...

This will probably should be moved to the Q&A section....

First off,, stay away from the Northcoast Knives Tut..No offence,, but a Very amateurish, primitive way of making a kydex sheath... Too complicated, and too much work for the end result, which is,, Another poor sheath.

The use of the Heat Gun is correct though...:)

Hot plastic won't hurt your firearms..
It's not that hot, and doesn't stay hot for long enough to do any damage...

Knifekits "Waffle Iron" presses are Ok,, but not what I would use...
They'll get the job done, however with scrap kicking around the garage,,you can make one.C-clamps and quicky clamps will work much better...

ttyle

Eric....
