After receiving the ZT 0566 and making adjustments to suit me I decided to lighten up the knife a bit. Went from 5.3 ounces to 5.1 ounces. Could not feel any difference in my hand in any respect. Removed a total of 1 5/8" of SS material from the frame below the G10. This piece of stainless is thin so I didn't expect to much weight change. Don't believe removing this amount hurt the integrity of the knife. Yea, it voids the warranty but that does not bother me in the least as this knife seems well made.

What kind of drillbit did you use? Cool mod, by the way. I wanted to do something similar to my buck vantage pro a while ago.

I used cobalt drill bits. You can also use High Speed Steel bits. Don't run to fast and use cutting oil. Countersink the holes to remove any burrs and lightly stone the surface. If you don't have a countersink you can use a larger drill and just break the surface of each hole then stone if necessary.

Forgot to mention. I screwed the SS plate to a wood block to give it support when drilling in a vise.
