These two folders from my collection deserve their own thread.

Made by Martin Annegarn (MAKnives), a dutch knifemaker. Purchased one on the "DKE" (Dutch knifeshow), the other one on an informal "Kinfe gathering" in Wageningen, holland. The folders are nicely finished, with beautiful wood handles. My next two folders are already ordered (guess what - mammoth & damascus)

First one: Damasteel blade, Malgaro-wood scales. Note the mosaik pins. Backlock.

Second one: Damasteel blade and spring, Pyinma-wood scales. Backlock.

Very nice clean lines on those blades, you are right to be proud of them!

Both knives have very appealing design.

What is malgano wood? i don't think I have ever seen a blacker wood.

Actually its malgaro, my mistake, I spelled it wrong the first time. I think it's some kind of Ebony. Not sure, I'll ask the maker.

Kind regards,

Jos

Further on that Malgaro wood: according to the maker it's a kind of Pallisander from Madagascar.

Kind regards,

Jos

Made to my order: small friction folder & larger backlock folder, damasteel blade & bolsters, mammoth ivory handles.

To avoid misunderstanding: the folders in post #8 are not mine. The mammoth "set" (lockback & friction) are in my collection. They were made to my order. Martin is now going to make me a multiblade folder in mammoth & damascus.

What are the specs on this latest beauty.

Specs on that damascus friction folder:

blade & spacer: damascus forged by Gudy Van Poppel (another of my favorite dutch knifemakers)
Handle: redwood, bolsters 317 SS, handle length 130mm

Jos, you have an excellent folder collection which keeps getting better.

Thanks Kevin. I do my best!;)

Kind regards,

Jos

I was dead set about buying something from him for a while. He's a craftsman. unfortunately I can't afford his work.

Love his knives.
This one he completely handfiled the tribal in the blade.
