Malla Question

I was looking at the specs of the Malla off of the HI website and this one big heavy blade.

The khukuri is 19 inches, 2 inches wide, 7/16 thick and weighs about about 2 & 1/4 pounds

compared to an ang khola @ 18 inches overall, about 1/2 inch thick, 2 to 2.5 pounds.

its seems while slightly smaller by 1/16 in width and depending on the blade only 4 oz lighter why would the malla not be warranted for field use?
 
I have an 18 inch, 23 oz Malla blem, and Yangdu reassured me it would hold up just fine to the hard use activities I described. Mine has a small fold mark near the base of the blade and she indicated it would not weaken the blade whatsoever. Although the Malla's not mentioned in the warranty on the HI site, Yangdu told me she would be glad to send me another if mine didn't hold up.
