Malware again

Hello everybody,
Wifeys machine picked up some malware.
Ran malwarebytes and found PUP.mightymagoo... and PUM.hijack.task..
Her side is wiped clean. Can I get her info back?

If it's been wiped good luck retrieving the info. Some programs claim to be able to do it, but I don't have much knowledge in that area since I've never tried it, the last computer I had crash was a few years ago.

Buy an external and start doing backups. I back up my MacBook Pro once a week with Time Machine, and backup critical documents on a flash drive on my key chain. So the most I can lose is a week of data, but all of my critical files are backed up on the fly through my flash drive. *knock on wood* Haven't had to use either backup yet, but they're there if I need them, weekly since September.

It seems like OCD to back up that often, but after having one computer crash I'd rather never have to start over again, the couples minutes here and there to back up prevents a weekend of restoring the contents of a wiped computer.
