Seriously, this one has some rather radical ladder effects from the drawing dies that I just wanted to show off.
This is a really good demonstration of what's happening when using drawing dies in our billets.
Now, to finish this thing out.
(It's W2 and 416)

What do you suggest?
I've got a couple really sweet pieces of the premium grade of Ceylon Ebony.
Or........?

What else is on hand? I can see the Ebony being a sound choice - a black handle against a black / silver blade. Would look cool, particularly with a grey-toned guard. I can see a wood with big loopy burl figure also working well. Like maybe a redwood burl or a dark golden quilted maple.

I know where you're coming from, Roger.
I layed a piece of dark rosy-red Kingwood next to it and it looked awesome. So did Cocobolo.
Something's going on it tomorrow!

I like that look VERY much Karl. I think the ebony or blackwood would look AWESOME with that blade.

:eek:Wow! That's awesome Karl! Looks like the stainless is melted over the W2:thumbup:

I'm not saying it's gone - I'm just saying it's not gonna be Ceylon ebony or hot-blued fittings.
And you're not going to believe what I put on it. (Check your last knife!)
