How do I turn Mammoth moler into a beautiful handle? How do you cut it into slabs? What do you do to polish it? Thanks for your help guys.

Try to get in touch with Charles Turnage, his co. is called Fine Turnage Produtions. He sells mammoth tooth handles and he can tell you what to look out for when working with this material. Good luck
He's listed at Ebay if you can't find him any other way.

I have used it a couple of times. A real pain to cut, dremel type cut off wheels work best. Brittle when you try to drill it but sharp carbides work well, just don't expect long life from your bits. Use new belts to shape. Fill voids with superglue or epoxy. I take the belts to 600 then polish with CR51 at 1750 rpm. Charles Turnage is a good lead. He has great materials and probably some great pointers, I just never thought to ask him. KDC

I cut and carve mammoth tooth. If you are going to slab it send it off to WSSI or K&G and have it stabilized. You will need a carbide grit or diamond blade to cut it. I would recommend you buy the scales from Dan Burke or Charles Turnage.I know what they are paying and I honestly do not know how they can made money at the prices they are getting on eBay.
